Time Management

  • Good management of your time is critical for you to do well
during the examination
  • Use the interest tables provided … NOT the interest formulas!!!
    • They were built to save time before calculators and spreadsheets were
invented.
  • Attempt every question!
    • A good strategy is to at least write down something, such as your
approach to solving the problem.
  • TAs can not award part marks for blank pages.
  • Many more part marks awarded for equation/model setup than for the
numerical answer.

  1. The APSC 221 Final examination will be ‘closed book. You will NOT be permitted to use any resources other than the formula sheet and interest tables provided.
  2. Proctored using the Proctortrack system … Make sure that you have the software installed and tested well before the day of the examination.
  3. You are not permitted to work in groups or to get assistance from any other person. The examination must be completed independently by answering the questions entirely on your own.
  4. You are not permitted to use social media, texting, online chatting, etc. or email to share questions/answers or to collaborate with anyone during the final exam.
  5. Sharing your questions/answers on any platform is not permitted. We will be monitoring online sites. You are not allowed to access or post or copy from chegg.com or any other tutoring sites.
  6. Any reports of departures from the principles of academic integrity will be investigated and there will be consequences, such as getting a zero on the assessment and may also include failing the course, for anyone who is found to have violated these principles.

  2. Answers to ALL questions must be submitted via OnQ within the time allowed.
  3. The Formula sheet and Interest tables are provided in the submission folder in OnQ.
  4. If doubt exists as to the interpretation of any question, you are urged to submit with you answers a clear statement of any assumptions made. Proctors are unable to respond to queries about the interpretation of questions. Do your best to answer questions as written.
  5. Marks will be deducted if appropriate interest factors, their designations, and appropriate values of interest rate (i) and period (n) are not indicated. You are strongly encouraged to provide cash flow diagrams where appropriate.
